Have you ever thought about how art can have hidden meanings?

Art is fascinating in the way it can sometimes convey hidden meanings. I recently created a watercolor in Barcelona inspired by a photograph of a close friend who now lives in a different country with whom I have lost touch. While showing my works to a studio mate today, he noticed that particular painting and commented that it evoked a strong sense of nostalgia in him.It hit me then that, although I did not intend for the painting to be nostalgic, it precisely captures my current feelings about the work, with the figure walking away symbolising the significant changes in my life.

Lately, I've been longing for the life I had before. In Russian, there's a word called 'toska' which means a mixture of sadness, nostalgia, and melancholy. I often find myself feeling 'toska' these days, missing the sense of community and belonging that I used to have.

This isn't a cry for help or anything like that. I'm actually doing really well and enjoying exploring life. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you on how a painting isn't just a piece of paper with some paint on it. It can carry a whole story and emotional weight that reflects our experiences.
