“Heat Vision” series, 2024 - 2025

In “Heat Vision”, Anna Antonova renders scenes of emotional intensity through a palette of burning reds, ochres, and golden light. Birds and lone figures populate sun-drenched, dreamlike landscapes where perspective is softened and edges melt into one another.

The series explores how memory and perception distort under pressure—like images warped by heat. Themes of loss, resilience, and ecological anxiety run through the works, but without didacticism. Instead, the paintings invite the viewer into a sensory space where emotion becomes visible, like a shimmer in the air.
